On minimal non-supersoluble groups
2007
[EN] The aim of this paper is to classify the finite minimal non-p-supersoluble groups, p a prime number, in the p-soluble universe.
Diving into Math with Emmy Noether
2020
Some 100 years ago a notice appeared in the journal of the German Mathematical Society that read: “Dr. Emmy Noether has habilitated as a lecturer in mathematics at Gottingen University.” This quiet announcement was actually the resounding final chord in a long struggle that went on for four years and only ended on June 4, 1919, when Noether joined the Gottingen faculty.
The Scientific Context
2018
We review three important processes: the foundation of national mathematical societies, in particular, the London Mathematical Society and the Societe Mathematique de France; the creation of research mathematical journals, focusing on Acta Mathematica and its founder Gosta Mittag-Leffler; and the organization of mathematics at international level, discussing the origins of the International Congresses of Mathematicians.
On finiteJ-groups
2003
AbstractCharacterisations of finite groups in which normality is a transitive relation are presented in the paper. We also characterise the finite groups in which every subgroup is either permutable or coincides with its permutiser as the groups in which every subgroup is permutable.
On finite minimal non-nilpotent groups
2005
[EN] A critical group for a class of groups X is a minimal non-X-group. The critical groups are determined for various classes of finite groups. As a consequence, a classification of the minimal non-nilpotent groups (also called Schmidt groups) is given, together with a complete proof of Gol¿fand¿s theorem on maximal Schmidt groups.
Classical operators on weighted Banach spaces of entire functions
2013
We study the operators of differentiation and of integration and the Hardy operator on weighted Banach spaces of entire functions. We estimate the norm of the operators, study the spectrum, and analyze when they are surjective, power bounded, hypercyclic, and (uniformly) mean ergodic.
Spectral Asymptotics for More General Operators in One Dimension
2019
In this chapter, we generalize the results of Chap. 3. The results and the main ideas are close, but not identical, to the ones of Hager (Ann Henri Poincare 7(6):1035–1064, 2006). We will use some h-pseudodifferential machinery, see for instance Dimassi and Sjostrand (Spectral Asymptotics in the Semi-classical Limit, London Mathematical Society Lecture Note Series, vol 268. Cambridge University Press, Cambridge, 1999).
